| Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Nayak is the Director General of Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and technology (CIPET) since 31st July 2007. |

| Prof. Nayak did his Ph.D. in Polymer Science (Study on Photo Polymerization initiated by charge transfer complex). Currently he is pursuing D.Sc. in Polymer Science (Advanced Thermoplast Composites and Nanocomposites: Evaluation of Mechanical, Thermal and Rheological Performance) |

For more than 23 years, Prof. Nayak has been a committed team leader with outstanding credentials and senior management experience. He has vast experience in current state-of-art Research, Training, Technology Development, Industrial Consultancy, Testing, Analysis and Quality Management, Business Development, Client Relation Operations, etc., in the field of Plastics, Polymer Engineering & Technology. As a Principal Investigator he undertook around 30 R&D Projects and more than 70 major consultancy and National Study reports in plastics and allied field. He Leads internationally recognized inter-disciplinary research programmes in the field of Bio-polymer, Polymer composites and Nanocomposites. He has guided 04 Post-Doctoral, 14 Doctoral and 25 Masters Thesis. He has Hands-on experience with project management technique, risk evaluation and mitigation strategies and working capital management to attain profitability of the Institute. |

Prof. Nayak has 05 patents and more than 200 publications in International Journals with High Impact Factors to his credit. He is a Reviewer for many International Scientific Journals including Journal of Applied Polymer Science, Composite Science Technology, Polymer Composites, Journal of Reinforced Plastic Composites, Polymer, Materials Science Engineering, and Polymer Engineering & Science. He has edited many Conference/Seminar proceedings in the field of Plastics Engineering & Technology.
