Technical Seminar on "Plastics Recycling and Waste Management" was organized on 20^th January, 2014 at Ajmer. The Seminar was inaugurated by Shri Avinash Joshi, I.A.S., Joint Secretary, (Petrochemicals), DCPC, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India. The speakers briefed on the following topics:

• Plastics Waste Management - Technological Option, Environmental Legislation & CIPET's Initiatives
• Plastics Waste Management - Myths & Realities
• Environment Friendly Conversion of Waste Plastics
• Plastics Waste Management Handling Rules 2011

About 223 participants including State Government Officials, Plastics manufacturers, processors, recyclers and distributors from Rajasthan, people from press and media, NGOs and Students attended the Technical Seminar.

To create awareness among general public, Poster and Slogan writing competition was organized by CIPET on 28-11-2013 for school students from 6^th to 10^th class at Ajmer on "Plastics Waste Management". 10 nos. of schools and approximately 150 students participated in the competition.
