Technical Seminar on "Plastics Recycling and Waste Management" was organized on 25^th March, 2013 at Hyderabad. The Seminar was inaugurated by Shri Indrajit Pal, I.A.S., Secretary to the Govt. of India, Dept. of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers and President - CIPET Governing Council. Shri Anil Reddy, President, Andhra Pradesh Plastics Manufacturer's Association stressed the need of better plastic waste management. Dr. B Janardhan Reddy, IAS., Commissioner & Director of Municipal Administration, Government of Andhra Pradesh expressed his concern on the health hazards and environmental impact that are being caused in improper handling and disposal of plastics. Shri Indrajit Pal, I.A.S., Secretary to Govt. of India, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals stressed the need to focus on more efficient plastic waste management systems for proper segregation and collection of plastic wastes. A panel discussion was organised under the chairpersonship of Shri Indrajit Pal, I.A.S., Secretary to Govt. of India, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals. Around 215 participants from various State Government offices, Central Government, NGOs, etc. attended the Seminar.
